How to find the right job vacancy Are you tired of the job?
We help you find the right shelf Career crises are not just something that occurs when you leave the safe confines of your education and have to decide which way you want to go in the future – it is also something that can come to you suddenly in the middle of an otherwise brilliant career. Because who says you made the right choice when you decided on an education or accepted a job? But what do you really do if your job is a daily drum room and you dream of completely different pastures? We have dug for answers and found the recipe for how to find just the right vacant job. It is especially about looking inward and asking yourself some important questions:
- 1. What interests you? To get the job vacancy that really turns you on, the first step is logically to find out what you really like to do. And it's not just about what you like to do when you're at work - look at your life as a whole from when you were very young until now, and then make a list of the things you like to do make. Do you love playing with your dog? Do you like solving crossword puzzles? Are you crazy about model building, playing handball, traveling or experiencing the city? Once the list is complete, consider why you like doing those particular things. Do you like playing with your dog because it gives you mental and physical exercise? Is it because you like being outdoors or because you love animals? Once you have the answers, you are a little closer to identifying what turns you on and which job vacancy could be right for you.
- 2. What are your strengths and talents? Now you have to find out what you can do. First of all, it is of course worth looking at what qualifications and experience you have with you from your education or previous jobs, and feel free to think broadly here: Are you the type who is determined to play with numbers so that your finances increase in a higher unity? Are you good at hanging up shelves and changing gaskets in the faucet? Or are you a formidable sparring partner for friends and colleagues? Also give your weaknesses a thought now that you're getting started, so you can avoid jobs where you're confronted with them on a daily basis: Are your fine motor skills not top notch? Are you not good in stressful situations? Write down all your strengths and weaknesses so that you have something to deal with. Don't see your weaknesses as defeats, but on the contrary areas where you have the opportunity to improve, or use your strengths instead.
- 3. What requirements and wishes do you have? People do not work in the same way – some like the routine of everyday life running according to a schedule, others prefer spontaneity and variety at work. Some are born team players, others prefer to work alone. Some prefer to 'feel' decisions, others prefer to think about them and use data. And then there are an infinite number of ways to learn. How are you? Think about it so that you can choose the available job that best matches your personality.
- 4. Do your research? When you have clarified yourself, you have reached the point where you need to look at what options you have. Read job advertisements and ask family, friends and acquaintances about the jobs they have and what the positions require and entail. When thinking about job opportunities, think as broadly and as creatively as possible: just because you love fashion doesn't mean you have to design your own clothes - maybe you should open your own clothing store, write about fashion, make something , that requires an eye for the aesthetic, or perhaps you can even expand and redefine the job you already have, so that it lives up to the things you want to a greater degree? Feel free to think big thoughts in this phase; there's no need to limit yourself as long as you're brainstorming ideas.
- 5. Set yourself a goal. The idea development phase can easily take several months, but at some point you have to make a choice. Start by setting yourself a goal: Where do you want to end up? The dream job rarely falls from the sky, and the job may not be available when you want it. It may take diligence and perseverance to get there. The next step is therefore to set manageable sub-goals for how you will achieve your overall goal, preferably with a time frame for when you must reach the goal. It gives you the opportunity to think a little about how to achieve your goal, and make an action plan for how you can get closer to the available job. Do you lack any qualifications - do you have to take a new education, or can you just supplement your experience with courses and further education? Are you missing some useful contacts in your network or new knowledge? Also consider whether volunteering will benefit your career and give you a taste of what lies ahead. It can be a back road into the industry you want to enter, and give you a taste of what it requires. Remember that your decision is never final. Even if your goal right now seems like the ideal goal, it may well be that your ambitions and goals change when you grow professionally and personally as a person and gain more insight into the area. Therefore, put some dates in your career plan when you have to repeat this whole procedure and find out if you are on the right track.
